For decades, Polytan has actively pursued continuous improvement in the performance of sports surfaces. As part of this work, we have contributed to the DIN (German Industrial Norm) Committee in the establishment of DIN 18053/7 - Sports Grounds Part 7; Synthetic Turf Areas Determination of Environmental Compatibility. Our participation in the preparation of this standard is part of our commitment to the ongoing goals of protecting both players and the environment.
Polytan is also a leading member of the “RAL Gütegemeinschaft” a quality assurance body in place for over 100 years. This body forms the quality policies, quality standards and mechanisms for quality control of German industrial and building products. Following the RAL Quality Guidelines GU 943 (943/1 and 943/2), Polytan’s synthetic surfaces and turf systems are monitored on a regular basis concerning their technical properties and the environmental compatibility of the materials in use.
Polytan closely cooperates for all questions of toxicology, environmental compatibility and protection of the players with recognized experts and officially accredited (according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025) laboratories and test houses. Among others we cooperate closely with Dr. Hans Theodor Grunder / SAS Fresenius, Hans-Peter Knauf/ MPA Stuttgart (University of Stuttgart) and IMAT-UVE GmbH (Institute for Material Testing, Technology and Environmental Analytics). Partnerships with universities and our continuous effort for in-house research and development underpin our striving for the best technical and environmental performance of our products and systems.
Our Quality-Our Commitment
Before being introduced to the market, all newly developed Polytan products have to pass a technical and environmental approval process. Based on today’s best expert knowledge, Polytan’s proprietary formulations for artificial turf do not include any formulation ingredients having a harmful impact on the player or the environment.
Polytan does not use lead or organic and inorganic lead compounds as formulation components for its artificial turf carpets.
